While initially conceptualized for YouTube, the films’ unprecedented success warranted their evolution into OTT versions, which have also been resonating powerfully with audiences. 2023 was the start of our creative journey with Major League Soccer superstars, LA Galaxy. Our original creation was an opening trailer for the season which highlighted the rivalry between LA Galaxy and LAFC while also letting the fans know that this game would be happening where it all began for LA Galaxy – at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. Due to extreme weather conditions, the game was called off at the last moment and was rescheduled for independence day. To amplify the rivalry once more, we were tasked with creating a variety of campaign assets for the rescheduled Rose Bowl Stadium game and continue where we left off earlier in the season. For this campaign we created three different films: Rose Bowl Ticket Push Trailer: The first of our trailers, the intent of this film was to build up hype before the big game while also serving as a final ticket sales push to help sell out the Rose Bowl game. LA Galaxy approached us to create a season opening trailer to build up hype for their first game of the 2023 MLS season with long time derby rivals LAFC. Our trailer is the first introduction to LA Galaxy fans for the upcoming season and it’s a rowdy one! As with most derby matches, there’s a lot of rivalry weight riding on the game and we really dialed into this to build up hype for the 2023 season’s first Los Angeles Derby. LA Galaxy left their last game with LAFC feeling robbed and our trailer really sets the scene for what is likely to be a successful victory. We set the tone for the game with a heavily emotional song, slick motion graphics, and appropriate lyrics that narrate the two teams history perfectly with lines like “No matter what opposition you bring…” and “we ain’t got no fear.” We made the decision early on in the creative process that we would open with one goal and that would be the only one we showcased. Our team closely collaborated with Nutrafol’s creative department to create visually appealing and informative videos for each of their products available at Sephora.
