Two bags, one story. The iconic Coach Quilted Tabby and the Coachtopia Alter/Ego Shoulder Bag—crafted as companions in a nature documentary-styled short film, yet united in their mission to redefine luxury.
Partnering with Coach and Coachtopia, RIOT set out to reimagine a “behind-the-scenes” workshop story. What began as an exploration of craft soon transformed into an immersive narrative, a playful yet purposeful film that lets each stitch and scrap speak. With the charm of a nature documentary, every frame invites viewers to marvel, as our David Attenborough-inspired voiceover captures the journey of leather scraps becoming something new and iconic.

A Quiet Rebellion: Crafting Circularity with a Wink

The Alter/Ego Collection began as a simple idea: to craft a new bag from the scraps of another, turning potential waste into a statement of circular design. Our film embraces this idea fully, treating the bags as “long-lost cousins” in their “natural habitat,” an approach that blends RIOT’s distinct playfulness with Coach’s commitment to sustainable luxury.

At RIOT, we make the familiar new again. Through our cinematic direction and signature stop-motion animation, we captured the tactile intimacy of leather being cut, stitched, and shaped in the hands of Master Craftsman Mauricio Alvarado. Each moment of production became a story in itself, punctuated by close-ups, rhythmic beats, and ASMR textures that immerse viewers in Coachtopia’s ethos.
