The Xcerts: Daydream (Official Music Video)
Back in September 2017, we returned to Brighton to work with The Xcerts on their second single, “Daydream,” from their latest album “Hold on to Your Heart.” The music videoVideo is a powerful visual medium that combines moving images, sound, and text to convey messages, tell stories, and engage audiences. It is used across platforms and industries to inform, entertain, and inspire., seen above, captures a playful yet introspective journey that mirrors the song’s essence. Directed by Chris “MUG5” Maguire, this visual tale unfolds with a mix of humor, surrealism, and vibrant energy.
The story begins with Jordan and Tom frantically arriving at Murray’s house, running late for their gig—only to find Murray submerged in a bathtub, fully clothed, eyes wide open in classic ’80s movie fashion. What follows is a whirlwind of car rides, chaotic running, and fragmented daydreams. Through vivid, schizophrenic imagery, we dive into Murray’s mind as he holds his breath underwater, lost in his thoughts.
The journey culminates with Murray arriving at an empty venue, confidently strolling to the stage as the band launches into the final chorus. The scene erupts into a packed, energetic crowd, showcasing The Xcerts at their peak performance. Yet, as we cut back, we’re left wondering—was it all just another daydream?

The Xcerts electrify the stage in the “Daydream” music video, capturing the energy and passion of their performance.
This music video was a joy to create, made possible by the incredible dedication and talent of everyone involved. From the in-car performances by Alex and Freddy to the hardworking crew capturing every moment in a single day, the effort poured into this production is something we’re immensely proud of. A special thank-you goes out to the owner of the vintage Datsun, the team at The Haunt in Brighton for allowing us to film, and everyone who showed up to be part of the crowd. And Jerome—for not trying to stab us this time!
“Daydream” is a fun, feel-good video that perfectly complements this ridiculously catchy song. Dive into the world of The Xcerts and let yourself get lost in the dream.
