Some careers run in a straight line, but Todd Kahn’s wandered through a family jewelry business and a law office before it found its way to the head of Coach.
In 2026 the Accessories Council named Todd, CEO and Brand President of Coach, as the Visionary Award honoree at its 30th ACE Awards, held on May 5 at The Pierre in New York. Coach asked us for the film that would introduce him to the gala: two minutes and fourteen seconds of tribute, and not a second of it stiff.
The brief was a portrait of a leader rather than a list of achievements. Inclusive, personable, driven, humble. So we let Todd begin it himself.
In his own words
The reel opens with Todd telling his own story, stitched from interviews he has given over the years. A childhood around the family’s jewelry business, where he learned to love retail. A side path into law. The call in late 2007, when Coach needed a general counsel, and his reasoning at the time: if you get to play for the Yankees, you don’t care what position you play.
Then the line the film turns on, an interviewer’s joke that Todd happily accepts: he is the coach of Coach.
“We focused on fewer ideas,
both in product and storytelling.”
Around him we cut the brand he has steered since 2020, starting where Coach started: the baseball glove leather the company was founded on. Those glove shots come from our own Lucky Fan films for Coach and the New York Yankees, where we filmed the leather up close, stitch by stitch, and here they become the heritage chapter of Todd’s story.
From the glove the edit runs forward to the Tabby, the runway and the Gen Z faces that made the turnaround a story the business press could not stop telling, with the brand climbing the Lyst Index and the growth numbers rising on screen.

The people who know him
Halfway through, the voices change. New interviews, filmed for the reel in mid-April, bring in the people who have worked beside him: Joanne Crevoiserat, CEO of Tapestry; Efraim Grinberg of Movado; and Lew Frankfort, the former Coach CEO who watched Todd grow into leadership (and whose own story we told in Bag Man). Joon Silverstein, Coach’s CMO, speaks to the culture he has built inside the company.

“Todd is a visionary.
He’s able to blend magic and logic.”
Magic and logic
Magic + Logic is Lew’s phrase. It is the philosophy he says built Coach, logic in everything they did and magic in everything they did, and it is the idea we built Bag Man around. Hearing him hand it to Todd is the highest praise the reel could carry, so we tried to show it rather than say it. Todd laughing with his team around a meeting table. Todd in the workshop with Coach’s craftspeople. Todd walking past the Dream It Real wall, the line Coach gave its foundation’s young dreamers.

Honored for the vision
A last voice congratulates him and wishes the room a great evening, and the reel lands on two lines, white on black: Recognized for the Impact. Honored for the Vision. Then the Coach wordmark, and the applause it was cut for.
