LA Galaxy approached us to create a season-opening trailer to build up hype for their first game of the 2023 MLS season with long-time derby rivals LAFC. Our trailer is the first introduction to LA Galaxy fans for the upcoming season and it’s a rowdy one! As with most derby matches, there’s a lot of rivalry weight riding on the game and we really dialed into this to build up hype for the 2023 season’s first Los Angeles Derby. LA Galaxy left their last game with LAFC feeling robbed and our trailer really sets the scene for what is likely to be a successful victory. We set the tone for the game with a heavily emotional song, slick motion graphics, and appropriate lyrics that narrate the two teams’ history perfectly with lines like “No matter what opposition you bring…” and  “we ain’t got no fear.” RIOT creative agency made the decision early on in the creative process that we would open with one goal and that would be the only one we showcased. Our team at Riot NYC is thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with the Washington Commanders, marking a significant step in their historic rebrand with the introduction of their new and first ever mascot, Major Tuddy. The film, which was created to introduce Major Tuddy to fans on social media was also played at FedEx Field, and made a big impact and be eye-catching for both small screens and stadium-sized displays. Working with the Washington Commanders, we brought Major Tuddy to life in the green screen clips and combined it with footage from the Commanders archives to create a compelling story. Major Tuddy’s character pays homage to the nickname “The Hogs” given to a the Washington Redskins most famous offensive line that were responsible for Washington Redskins Super Bowl wins in the ’80s and ’90s. We also included scenes of the Hogettes, fans known for their wild outfits and pig snout masks.   With a mix of humor, player interactions, exciting visuals, and references to Washington Commanders history, we created a high-energy film that was shared on all the Commanders social media channels and received widespread coverage in media outlets. With everything from fine-dining restaurants to the hidden gems in the city that never sleeps, Vegas On is the ultimate guide to what’s new and what’s now in Las Vegas. The sizzle reel above highlights the graphics package and brand identity we created for the popular episodic Las Vegas-owned online show. RIOT provided full creative direction on everything from the logo design, brand color scheme all the way through to the motion graphics that add energy and clarity to the productions the Vegas On team makes. Using a beautiful color palette and bold fonts, we developed a visual identity brand blueprint for the Vegas On team to use across all their assets – both within show episodes and anywhere else the brand is represented both on and offline. The looping videos below demonstrate a variety of individual motion graphics assets that were created as part of our visual identity package. Other assets that were created that aren’t demonstrated include lower third assets and transitions which helped to round out our creative direction and visual identity package.

With almost 40,000 new apps released every month, we had to make sure the new Wardrobe app which allows its users to exchange and borrow high-fashion clothing would stand out from the crowd. The introduction to the app is the front door for the person using it, so we went above and beyond with this video, welcoming everyone to it in the coolest way possible. Taking a bank of awesome content from the team including clips of real users of the app, we had fun playing around with it all in very unique ways. Our creative agency goes the extra mile as always, we took the time to hand-cut real pieces of paper, filmed on a green screen, and then added stop motion to achieve an old-school and hyped look and feel. We ran assets through one of our many vintage video cameras to add true and unique VHS effects, created custom motion graphics for the logo and text moments, and composed mixed media animation layers and textures to help bring fresh, new, and unique vibes to each frame.
