Video Of The Day: Ages – Chances feat. Johannes Eder
September 5, 2016 in Film

The xx originated that, modern echoey, ethereal guitar tone that they always use but when “Chances” starts you would swear you were about to listen to a The xx track. That is not the case though, this song doesn’t go that way at all, Ages end up using it in a more dance music-oriented way that works much better in practice than my description sounds. When the four on the floor comes in it does so subtly but when the chorus drops “Chances” becomes some weird anthemic, chilled-out dance track with a half-time beat that I get goosebumps for. There are all sorts of cool sounds in this from the heavy snare to the weird glitch rolls and sounds in the background. This song is for the “boy racer” in all of us, pop “Chances” on the sound system and drive through your local high street like a king! Then of course we have the video, an absolutely epic visual adventure, with the use of very cool alpha and luma masks. Sadly I can’t find any information about who directed, created or produced the video which is a shame as we always like to follow the best talent out there […]
