Video Of The Day: Massive Attack feat. Young Fathers – Voodoo in my Blood
Massive Attack are, without question our favorite band of all time. No other band has made such art with their music in the modern era. They put packages together that incorporate art, music and film altogether in one epic whole. It’s no surprise then that, according to GQ that Robert “3D’ Del Naja might actually be Banksy detailing how Banksy artwork pops up in cities that Massive Attack also happen to be playing in. It wouldn’t surprise us, that one of the most elusive and original artists of modern times in Banksy is connected to the ever radical Massive Attack. Who knows? Still, it’s food for thought.
Digression aside, above we’re featuring our video of the day “Voodoo in my Blood: by Massive Attack and featuring Young Fathers. The whole video takes place in a city walkway underpass it starts off ominous with our lead, the awesome Rosamund Pike – who kills her performance in this for the record. You can clearly tell the woman in the film is scared, of what becomes clear when a weird 3D flying object comes into the scene. From there you see an awesome performance of 3D renderings alongside live video and this is where Rosamund’s acting truly comes into its own – particularly when she is being fully controlled by the alien looking device.
As if the song wasn’t good enough, Massive Attack have paired it with a perfect piece of visual art that was Directed by Ringan Ledwidge and Produced by Rattling Stick. With every Massive Attack our excitement grows as to what will be coming next and never ever are we disappointed. Big up Massive Attack, you kill it with every artistic statement you deliver.
